Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive consultations with pre-qualified potential new clients, drafting and reviewing legal documents for clients via phone and Zoom. Convey the firm's value proposition while patiently explaining complex Medicaid planning concepts to seniors and their caregivers. Represent clients at virtual hearings and maintain a caseload commensurate with abilities to provide effective legal advocacy. Contribute to firm content by writing articles and recording videos for the website, while reporting task hours through the CRM. Inform the Managing Attorney of salient case developments and ensure client data remains confidential and securely stored. Comply with all applicable regulations and Texas Bar requirements while maintaining knowledge in specialized elder law areas.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Law Degree
- Good Standing with the Texas Bar
- 5+ years of hands-on Texas Medicaid-planning experience
- Additional knowledge about public benefits in general, including Social Security, SSDI, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
- Knowledge of Texas Medicaid-compliant asset protection and government benefits preservation legal vehicles and strategies
- Familiarity with legal documents / drafting software, i.e. WealthCounsel/ElderDocx
- Computer literate includes proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications
