Job Summary
Elder Advocate provides crisis de-escalation, suicide lethality assessment and intervention, and supportive counseling to at-risk adults 60+. The role delivers information, referrals, and advocacy, connects clients to community resources, follows up on referrals, and maintains documentation. Responsibilities include coordinating and managing food assistance through the agency’s food bank, recruiting volunteers, participating in outreach and committees, developing resource directories, and tracking program data for reporting. The position is based in Delray Beach with relocation to Lantana, under 211 Palm Beach Treasure Coast, a private nonprofit serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or a related human services field
- At least one year of experience in counseling, social work, case management, or crisis intervention
- A Master’s degree may substitute for the experience requirement
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency
