Job Summary
Deliver core academic learning activities and experiences to support students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while developing competencies for societal success. Instruct students, manage classroom behavior, and apply knowledge of the assigned subject area and curriculum. Maintain strong organizational and communication skills throughout the role. Requires a Bachelor's degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements, and demonstrated subject competency. Student teaching or related work experience is necessary. [Physical Education Teachers: Current AED and CPR certificate].
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
