Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating individual student differences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to inform instructional strategies. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Direct the work of assigned instructional aides and volunteers, plan extracurricular activities, and maintain all required reports and records. Establish open communication with parents, colleagues, and community members while participating in faculty meetings and staff committees. Comply with state and district regulations, attend professional development activities, and complete special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
