Job Summary
ELA Teacher responsible for providing core English Language Arts instruction, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, using instructional strategies to address diverse learning styles, assessing student achievement, collaborating with special education teachers to modify curricula, supervising extracurricular activities as assigned, and maintaining professional communication with parents, students, and colleagues. Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements; experience with dual credit courses is preferred; duties include planning, instruction, assessment, classroom management, and adherence to TEA and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
