Job Summary
ELA and Social Studies Specialist provides leadership in middle school ELA and social studies curriculum development with a focus on technology integration. Leads training and professional development around ELA and social studies instruction, assessment, and intervention; supports online and blended learning opportunities; collaborates with ELA Instructional Specialist and Social Studies Teacher Leadership Team; guides transition to Arizona standards with inquiry learning, and integrates social studies into ELA. Requires strong communications, teamwork, customer service, and ability to develop innovative course materials and technology-enabled pedagogy; proficiency with Google Suite for Education; ability to coach teachers in curriculum, instruction, technology integration, and lesson planning; physical ability to perform duties and work in an educational setting. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience with effective technology integration
- Obtain and Maintain an appropriate Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certification for the position hired
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (AZ IVP FPCC) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
