Job Summary
The Prep Cook at El Pollo Loco prepares ingredients for grilling and service according to brand recipes, prep procedures, and food safety standards. Responsibilities include marinating chicken, chopping produce, portioning proteins, preparing salsas, following approved recipes and prep lists, labeling and rotating items by FIFO, assisting with basic grill support, maintaining clean prep areas and equipment, monitoring inventory and communicating shortages or quality concerns, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations, preventing cross-contamination, and collaborating with cooks and shift leaders to support high-volume periods. Emphasis on teamwork, reliability, and professionalism in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment. This role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Previous food prep or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
