Job Summary
Assistant Manager at El Pollo Loco oversees daily restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager, leading shift teams to ensure safe, efficient service and strong customer experiences. Responsible for staffing, coaching, training, adherence to food safety and company standards, inventory and cost controls, and delivering on financial targets. Requires supervisory experience, ServSafe certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work flexible hours; hands-on in fast-paced, customer-facing environment with POS and cash-handling responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe certification required (or must obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum 1–2 years of restaurant or retail supervisory experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, smart safe operation, and basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work at nearby locations as needed
