Job Summary
Assistant Manager responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations at El Pollo Loco. Acts as person in charge in GM’s absence, leads shift-level coaching and development, ensures food safety and compliance, monitors service quality and customer experience, manages inventory and costs, supports hiring/onboarding and training, maintains a positive work environment, and drives achievement of financial and operational targets. Requires supervisory experience, ServSafe certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe certification required (or must obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum 1–2 years of restaurant or retail supervisory experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, smart safe operation
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
