Job Summary
Assistant Manager at El Pollo Loco responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, supporting the General Manager, leading shift-level staff, ensuring food safety and service metrics, managing staffing and development, inventory and cost controls, and handling cash and customer service issues. Requires 1–2 years supervisory experience, high school diploma or equivalent, ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain), strong leadership and communication skills, POS/cash handling proficiency, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Acts as person in charge when the General Manager is absent and collaborates to meet financial and operational targets.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe certification required (or must obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum 1–2 years of restaurant or retail supervisory experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, smart safe operation, and basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work at nearby locations as needed
