EKG Technician

Job Summary
Perform electrocardiograms for outpatients and process EKGs for inpatients and outpatients, assigning results to physicians for reading. Prepare patients, apply electrodes, and document Holter monitor and ambulatory blood pressure monitor data daily. Provide technical analysis of ECG data and assist with machine troubleshooting, quality control, and protocol utilization during downtimes. Perform patient prep, explanation, and application of monitoring equipment while maintaining daily documentation in patient records. Requires high school diploma, knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia, and ability to work with PC software. Day shift, onsite at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia
- Ability to work with PCs and software programs (HIM system, EKG information management system, etc.)
- General clerical skills including use of fax, copier, memo taking, conference phone system, etc.
- Physical ability to assist patients with mobility issues and transport equipment
- Lift and carry 25 lbs

- performing CPR
Desired Qualifications
- Technical School Diploma
- Basic arrhythmia course
- 1 year 12-lead ECG performance
- knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia
- CET - Certified EKG Technician - State of Pennsylvania
