Job Summary
Conduct structural analysis and design for transportation projects such as bridges and tunnels under close supervision of a Senior Engineer. Perform basic calculations using company and manufacturer software to analyze structural system components. Assist the team in preparing designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports while verifying compliance with applicable codes and standards. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on project coordination and provide support services during construction, including submittal reviews and contract document clarifications. Perform field work related to construction activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of design
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Basic understanding of Microstation and any other relevant design software
- Knowledge of calculations performed by software
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others
- Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work
