Job Summary
As an EIT Fire Protection Engineer, you will perform preliminary design and complex analysis for performance-based fire engineering, model fire and smoke behavior with Fire Dynamics Simulator (NIST) and similar tools, simulate occupant evacuation with Pathfinder/Evacnet, assess structures for fire exposure using computational methods, draft independent engineering reports, audit existing buildings for fire safety compliance, and coordinate with clients, consultants, and enforcing agencies. You will contribute to marketing initiatives and fee proposals, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage in ongoing learning through Holmes University while supporting diverse projects and life-safety outcomes. This is a flexible hybrid role based in Seattle with in-office Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 1 internship in a fire safety role
- 1-2 years full-time experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and fire modelling tools
