Job Summary
Design AutoCAD layouts for motor control centers, PLC panels, and VFD cabinets, plus develop complete Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control project drawings for municipal tenders. Select instrumentation equipment, configure industrial Ethernet systems, and coordinate project management from quotation through completion. Assist with inventory control, material ordering, and provide competitive pricing estimates for facilities electrical controls systems. This role focuses on the water and wastewater industry, with additional supply to mining, wood fiber, and oil & gas sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD software and development of control panel layouts & wiring schematics
- Familiarity with electrical, instrumentation, controls and SCADA systems as they relate to municipal water and wastewater systems
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications
- Familiar with ERP Systems and material procurement
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in Industrial Ethernet design and configuration
- Experience in the water and wastewater industry
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Problem analysis and solving ability
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Team player, flexible, self-motivated, get along well with co-workers and is willing to travel when required
- Understanding of the Canadian Electrical code and CSA standards as they apply to custom control panels and motor control centers
- Experience in estimating facilities electrical controls systems including MCC's, electrical control panels (PLC's), instrumentation, SCADA systems and project labour
- Ability to coordinate with team and assist with project management from quotation through to completion
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Ability to assist with inventory control and material ordering
- Experience in AutoCAD development of complete Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) project drawings and specifications for municipal tender packages
