Job Summary
Directly impact young children (ages 0-3) in the Early Head Start/Head Start program through supervision, personal care, and curriculum implementation. Responsibilities include diapering and dressing infants and toddlers, maintaining a clean environment, nurturing social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development, observing and documenting child progress to set individualized goals, collaborating with staff to support families across resources (parent involvement, social services, nutrition, health, mental health), maintaining accurate records and screenings, and reinforcing parents’ roles as primary educators. The role requires travel to all centers as needed, bilingual skills preferred, and a hybrid schedule with Monday–Friday hours 07:00 AM–04:00 PM in Los Angeles, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field required
- Minimum of 3 Infant/Toddler Development course units required at the time of hire
- 6 Infant/Toddler Development course units required by the end of the first year of employment
- -OR- High school diploma
- A minimum of 12 ECE/CHDV college units including: Child/human growth and development; Child, family, and community, or child and family relations; Programs/curriculum
- English proficiency required
