Job Summary
Develop and implement environmental health and safety programs to protect workers and the environment from hazardous conditions. Conduct audits, inspections, and SDS reviews while analyzing near misses and hazard observations to identify trends and develop targeted training. Assist the Environmental and Safety Managers by filling in for them when needed, performing plant inspections, and supporting MSHA compliance efforts. Deliver training on environmental health and safety topics for new hires and employees. Ensure all programs remain effective and compliant with relevant regulations, including NESHAP standards, while working with departments to maintain safe and environmentally compliant working conditions.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering preferred, physical science, chemistry, or environmental related field
- Familiarity in environmental (in a manufacturing or consulting setting), including permitting and compliance experience in Air, Water, & Waste permits
- Strong project management skills
- Very good written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits

- Familiarity with Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA)
- Use of Microsoft documents, information, data, presentation software (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Knowledge of the National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for the Portland Cement and Hazardous Waste Combustor Industries a plus
- Experience in the Cement Industry a plus
