EHS Specialist - Retail (DFW Based)

Job Summary
Facilitate Environmental, Health and Safety programs across assigned retail, manufacturing, and operations areas by identifying hazards, proposing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Provide guidance to employees and management on continuous safety improvements, conduct on-site audits, inspections, and coaching, and lead incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-through. Monitor safety performance trends, maintain EHS documentation and records, develop training programs, and interpret EHS regulations and safety equipment use. Travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and out-of-state trips, to perform onsite activities and support facilities or manufacturing as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 5 years' experience in environmental, health and safety
- Valid State Driver's License
- Ability to meet James Avery's driving requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
- Ability to travel to various work locations as needed-Corp & MFG/Ability to travel up to 75% including overnight and out of state travel, to conduct onsite audits and assist with EHS events-Retail
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field
- Experience in environmental, health and safety in multi-store retail or manufacturing environment
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
- Experience with Riskonnect Incident Management software
