Job Summary
Obtain and maintain regulatory permits for air, stormwater, sanitary, and waste. Review annual OSHA and environmental reports while providing technical support to plant personnel on federal and state regulations. Lead the Industrial Hygiene Monitoring Program, manage chemical inventory, and facilitate internal audit and inspection programs. Investigate safety incidents, coordinate safety equipment distribution, and develop hazard control practices. Manage site injuries, workers' compensation programs, and security/fire protection equipment audits. Provide orientation training to new hires and analyze training system effectiveness. Prepare weekly reports summarizing training data and activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of safety and health and environmental codes and regulations required
- Ability to train in all areas of safety and health
- Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications required
- Strong organizational skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Proven leadership competencies including problem solving, decision making, motivation, ethical performance, teamwork, results oriented
- Valid driver's license
