EHS Specialist (Registered WSHO with MOM)

Job Summary
EHS Specialist and Registered WSHO for Thermo Fisher Scientific Singapore site, leading and managing Environmental, Health and Safety programs for the site while supporting APAC regional EHS initiatives. Acts as the Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer, drives a strong safety culture, ensures regulatory and management-system compliance, and supports New Product Introduction activities. Responsibilities include leading site EHS programs, inspections, and audits; conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis; managing contractor safety and permit-to-work systems; delivering EHS training; leading EHS meetings and safety campaigns; monitoring performance through noise mapping, industrial hygiene, and regulatory reporting; maintaining EHS documentation and liaising with regulators and auditors; and supporting business continuity and emergency preparedness.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering)
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
- Preferably Certified as Fire Safety Manager
- Certified Biosafety Lab/Biosafety Coordinator is an advantage
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable EHS regulations, standards and management systems (OSHA, GDP& GMP)
- Strong technical expertise in industrial hygiene, chemical safety, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs and leading safety initiatives
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with EHS software systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with emergency response and business continuity planning
- Demonstrated success in organizational change initiatives
- Multi-site or global experience preferred
