EHS Specialist

Job Summary
Develop and implement comprehensive EH&S programs ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and DOT regulations while managing contractor safety, hazardous energy isolation, and chemical management. Support site management by conducting fire suppression inspections, industrial hygiene sampling, respirator fit testing, and environmental audits for hazardous wastes and spills. Execute risk assessments including Job Hazard Analyses, lead root cause investigations for incidents and near misses, and maintain accurate OSHA logs and KPIs. Provide direct safety training to facility teams on confined space, lockout/tagout, and fall protection, and facilitate monthly safety meetings and site safety committees. Perform field observations with maintenance teams to enforce policy compliance and manage emergency response protocols across multiple facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience working with EHS compliance and management systems
- Experience preferably within facility operations
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn regulatory requirements that apply to facilities management (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, ASME, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of compliance frameworks and their practical application
- Knowledge of safety requirements
