Job Summary
Ensure Ideal Electric's operational compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory standards by developing, implementing, and maintaining company-wide EHS policies and manuals. Conduct routine plant safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments while maintaining accurate documentation required under federal regulations. Lead workplace incident investigations to identify root causes and track corrective actions to closure, enforcing safety policies consistently across the facility. Collaborate with production teams to integrate safety and ergonomics into daily operations, delivering training programs to all employees. Monitor environmental metrics, waste management, and sustainability initiatives, supporting regulatory audits and interfacing directly with government agencies. Maintain an active presence on the production floor as the subject matter expert for plant safety.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to work full time at the Ideal Electric Mansfield, Ohio facility
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety role within a manufacturing setting
- Prior experience working in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment
- Thorough working knowledge of OSHA general industry regulations and EPA standards
- Must be able to interpret basic technical data, regulatory texts, and safety data sheets (SDS)
- Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- US citizenship
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
- Must be able to travel throughout the United States and abroad
- Must have the ability obtain and maintain a valid passport and US-issued driver's license

Desired Qualifications
- EHS certifications (such as ASP, CSP, or OSHA 30-Hour)
- A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical area
- Strong root cause analysis capabilities regarding workplace accidents or near-misses
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver effective safety training to shop floor employees
