Job Summary
EHS Specialist will support Illumina’s Global EHS strategy for compliance and risk management in the delivery of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and related product and chemical management information. Responsibilities include authoring SDSs using the SAP EHS Module, maintaining the SAP EHS system, supporting RTK (3E) cooperation, DG classifications, and ensuring regulatory alignment with OSHA HCS and GHS. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders, vendor management, and training delivery, with a focus on data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement across global EHS programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, Environmental or Safety Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Public Health, Business, IT Management, or related discipline
- 2 years of industry experience
- Proven expertise in the SAP EHS Module (including system configuration and customization)
- Experience in project management
- Hands-on experience with SAP EHS Module and 3E systems (or similar)
- Strong understanding of OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and Dangerous Goods (DG) classifications
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Experience with data management, regulatory compliance, and EHS systems troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work in shifts to support the US region
