Job Summary
Lead impactful change initiatives and drive safety culture by implementing proactive process improvements across assigned locations. Manage the development and continuous improvement of local environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and safe work instructions to ensure regulatory compliance. Provide expert guidance to foster a positive safety culture, conduct routine site reviews to define goals and track progress, and support incident investigations to identify risk reductions and corrective actions. Develop reporting frameworks to monitor findings and facilitate the return to work for injured workers. Monitor regulatory changes, recommend organizational adjustments, and assist with external audits while collaborating with provincial authorities to resolve compliance violations. Act as the subject matter expert for the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of occupational health and safety experience
- Proven experience in health and safety management
- Strong knowledge of applicable Environmental and Health and Safety regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong supervisory and leadership and team building skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation
- The National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO®) and other professionally recognized certifications in the safety, risk management related field
