Job Summary
EHS Specialist to support and advance environmental, health, and safety initiatives across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include partnering with plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture; developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies and programs; conducting safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations; investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions; supporting OSHA/EPA regulatory compliance; coordinating safety training and employee engagement; maintaining EHS records, permits, and documentation; monitoring waste management, air emissions, and chemical handling; driving continuous improvement in safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency; collaborating with supervisors and employees to identify safer processes; assisting with emergency response planning; supporting contractor safety and compliance; driving safety metrics, reporting, and communication across departments. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, experience in manufacturing, OSHA/EPA knowledge, strong communication and training skills, independent and collaborative work ability, organizational and problem-solving abilities, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to influence cultural change. Bonus points for experience in textiles or heavy manufacturing, OSHA/EHS certifications, incident investigations and root cause analysis, and Lean/continuous improvement experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety regulations
- Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Ability to influence positive behavioral and cultural change
