Job Summary
Provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients under indirect supervision. Perform medical examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultations, and health education. Obtain patient histories, develop treatment plans using the POMR format, and supervise or coordinate support staff activities. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions while prescribing medications. Participate in planning programs and developing specific health policies and procedures. This role involves Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shifts at DeKalb County Jail in Decatur, Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Current license as a Nurse Practitioner
- Two (2) years of experience as a NP
- Proficient with electronic medical records
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR certification
- ACLS certification
