Job Summary
Champion and lead the overall site environmental and safety program at the Van Buren Plant, developing policies, procedures, and best practices to drive year-on-year improvements. Lead process safety management and dust hazards analysis compliance activities while inspecting, auditing, and monitoring equipment and work practices for regulatory adherence. Coach managers in safety program implementation, develop training and e-learning courses, and prioritize follow-up on incidents, near misses, and audit findings. Manage the site safety budget, prepare environmental regulatory reports for city and state agencies, and coordinate emergency response drills. Spend 20-25% of time in the plant and participate in safety committee meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or business management
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an industrial EHS program
- Experience in conducting safety investigations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and observation skills
- Extremely knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA, DEQ and other governmental regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, training, and organizational skills
- Proficient in the technology used for environmental aspects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and/or other software
- Compliance with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
- Must be able to spend time (20 - 25%) out in the plant
