Job Summary
EHS Manager lead role focusing on health and safety compliance, program development, and continuous improvement within an manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with OSHA/EPA and related regulations, managing safety programs, incident investigation and corrective actions, training and communications, and driving risk reduction through 5S and Lean initiatives. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments, strong communication, and demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders; qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred), and extensive experience in an EHS manufacturing environment with familiarity in LOTO, machine guarding, and hazardous materials handling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- Certified Safety professional, preferred
- First Aid/CPR certification, preferred
- 7+ years of experience in an environmental, health, and safety manufacturing environment
- Experience in Lockout/Tag out programs and machine guarding
- Experience with forklift training
- In depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws, regulations, and standards (OSHA, EPA)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and associated safety hazards
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
- Training and facilitation experience and capability
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical mindset with ability to assess risks, identify trends, interpret operational needs, and recommend corrective actions
- Problem solving and data analysis skills (8D, 5Y, statistics)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and coach stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in safety reporting, data analysis, and documentation software
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office) including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
