Job Summary
Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely reporting and follow-up on all EHS-related incidents. Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, disposal, and record-keeping. Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and machine guarding. Oversee the facility's emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and coordination with external agencies. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new equipment installations and process changes to integrate EHS considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance
- Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Fluency in Spanish or other relevant languages for a diverse workforce
