Job Summary
Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the metal manufacturing facility, conducting routine inspections to identify unsafe conditions and operational risks before injuries occur. Partner with employees and supervisors to implement corrective actions, lead incident investigations, and drive root-cause analysis for effective prevention. Manage environmental compliance activities including air inspections, permitting, waste programs, and regulatory reporting while coordinating exposure monitoring for workplace hazards. Develop and improve EHS policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance. Spend approximately 95% of the workday on the production floor engaging with staff to reinforce safe work practices and strengthen safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, or a closely related field
- At least three years of safety management experience
- Current certification issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, SMS, or STS
- At least eight years of safety management experience
- Experience leading formal incident investigations
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety programs and regulatory compliance
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly high-hazard environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Strong communication, leadership, and employee-engagement skills
- Ability and willingness to spend approximately 95% of the workday in the field
- Comfort working around metal fabrication, production equipment, noise, dust, chemicals, and active manufacturing operations
