Job Summary
Develop and implement environmental, safety, and health policies in compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, including OSHA regulations. Conduct monthly facility inspections to detect hazards, lead accident investigations, and coordinate emergency services for injured employees. Manage the implementation of safety equipment, train managers and staff on work site practices, fire prevention, and chemical handling, and maintain all mandated records and statistical summaries. Prepare periodic reports for management to ensure regulatory compliance and insurance requirements are met. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline: Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environment, Health and Safety, Chemistry, Biology, or appropriate science-related field
- Strong technical and regulatory expertise in environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements
- Minimum five years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Five or more years' experience in a safety related position
- A strong working knowledge of safety requirements and OSHA related laws
- Demonstrated judgment and decision making
- Capability to take projects from the conceptual stage to completion
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced certification, additional specialized safety education, and/or equivalent work experience
