Job Summary
Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify hazards and drive corrective actions. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence. Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, disposal, and documentation. Provide EHS training on topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and emergency response. Oversee facility emergency preparedness plans, including drills and equipment maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects and processes. This role supports manufacturing firms in Charlotte, MI, where partners seek professionals to strengthen their safety teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera)
