Job Summary
As an EHS Manager at Caterpillar, you will develop and direct programs to raise employee awareness of hazards and protect employees from workplace risks, lead EHS staff, and drive safety, health, and environmental initiatives. You will oversee audits, regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.), training and onboarding processes, incident investigations, and the development of sustainability initiatives. You will maintain records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, coordinate with regulatory bodies, and ensure implementation of EHS policies across the facility. This onsite role requires supervising 2+ staff, collaboration across teams, and leadership in safety program development and continuous improvement. Salary range: $128,470 - $192,710 with domestic relocation assistance available; no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent EHS experience
- Professional certification (CHMM, PE, CIH, or CSP) strongly preferred
- Prior supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations and policy compliance
- Ability to lead safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and training programs
- Experience with regulatory and government agency liaison
- Ability to prepare reports and communicate with internal/external stakeholders
- Capability to develop onboarding/OJT processes and wellness initiatives
- Proven ability to manage multiple staff and support personnel
- Knowledge of sustainability strategy and integrating it into business strategy
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work onsite five days a week in East Peoria, IL
