Job Summary
EHS Manager responsible for leadership and oversight of Environment, Health & Safety for Germany manufacturing facilities. Scope includes EHS support to regional field organisations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate, and ISO management system requirements, driving continuous improvement in EHS performance and culture, integrating EHS into business processes, acting as primary contact for regulatory authorities, and delivering EHS training. duties include developing and maintaining EHS programs, ensuring compliance with German safety, environmental, fire, and waste regulations, leading risk assessments, facilitating hazard control, supporting safety analyses and procedures, promoting incident/near-miss reporting and root-cause analysis, maintaining ISO14001/ISO45001 frameworks, managing waste processes, preparing EHS KPIs, conducting internal audits, and collaborating with works councils, health providers, and external agencies. Requires a degree in engineering or related field, ASiG certification, several years of EHS experience in manufacturing, and fluent German/English.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or related discipline
- Certified Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (ASiG)
- Several years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing or operational environment
- Strong knowledge of German EHS legislation and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience implementing and managing EHS management systems
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard control
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills in a matrix organisation
- Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP or similar systems
- Structured, independent working style with high level of accountability
- Fluent German and English language skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence at all levels
