Job Summary
Manage environmental, health, and safety processes for the facility by recognizing workplace hazards, recommending corrective measures, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NESHAP regulations. Develop and implement cost reduction projects while maintaining internal EHS systems, SDS databases, and required regulatory reports. Conduct employee training on regulatory standards and internal policies, coordinate risk assessments using SFMEA or JHA, and oversee incident investigations to identify root causes and enforce corrective actions. Manage workers compensation claims, support other facility managers, interface with external regulatory contacts, and build vendor relations. Requires a Bachelor's degree, five years of EHS experience, OSHA 30 certification, and the ability to travel and drive.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of related EHS/Safety experience
- Continuing education (ISO Training, OTJ, Regulatory Training)
- OSHA 30
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Strong organization and record keeping skills
- Solid understanding of safety policies and procedures
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- Able to present material to groups
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety compliance
- Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time and work on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds in an office setting
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend
- Must be able to see, speak, hear, and read
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate/utilize office machines
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to travel by car and airplane as needed
- Driving is an essential function of this position
- Clean driving record
