EHS Manager - 1st Shift

Job Summary
EHS Manager responsible for creating an EH&S presence across the Manitowoc plant, developing procedures to control accident and health exposures in line with customer expectations and regulatory requirements (FDA cGMP, BRCGS Consumer Products, ISO9001). Leads injury investigations with root cause analysis, hazard control programs, hazard evaluations, and long-range accident-prevention objectives. Supports sustainability programs, coordinates with onsite nursing, oversees Workers’ Compensation/Return to Work, implements safety committees, and ensures OSHA compliance. Develops and sustains safety training, PSM programs, permit filing, waste disposal, and regulatory reporting; liaises with government agencies and promotes Behavior-Based Safety across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering or Environmental Safety & Health field or equivalent experience
- Three years’ professional experience in manufacturing industry, with a focus on safety
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees and management
- Knowledge of federal, state, local safety, health and medical rules and regulations
- Familiar with Emergency Procedures in First Aid, CPR, Defibrillator
- Knowledge of State workers’ compensation and State Disability, FMLA, ADA laws/rules
- Must possess good organizational and administration skills
- LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) status recommended
