Job Summary
Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and direct management on corrective actions, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and insurance regulations. Serve on safety committees, administer industrial hygiene tests, and develop training programs for employees and new hires. Investigate accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions based on industry best practices. Audit location safety standards quarterly, manage safety supply inventory, and act as a liaison for external safety audits. Maintain the MSDS library and conduct emergency preparedness training. Evaluate program effectiveness using established goals and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA, other governmental regulations and laws including OSHA 300 logs and requirements by our insurance providers
- Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques
- Previous implementation of ISO 14001
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Bachelor's degree in safety or related field or equivalent work experience
- 5 years safety management experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of statistics, data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Proficient in MS Office products
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA General Industry 10 or 30 hour training course
