Job Summary
Develop and execute the site's annual EHS objectives, improvement plans, and compliance activities while managing the operating budget and capital planning process. Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute EHS investments that balance regulatory requirements with business needs. Maintain an active shop floor presence to foster relationships, collect feedback, and mentor partners, ensuring consistent application of policies and support for audits. Lead the EHS Management System, develop training matrices, and drive continuous improvement exercises to build a collaborative safety culture. Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and IATF 16949 standards while interpreting regulations for cold rolling and annealing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
- Previous leadership experience in an EHS position in a collaborative, industrial, setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), associated regulations, and industry best practices, with the ability to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety
- Previous Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) training (Certification Part I and/or Part II) and experience serving as a JHSC member
- Extensive knowledge and skill in development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs/activities and procedures
- Experience with EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001) and EHS auditing

- Ability to address large groups for presentations and training
- Ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to change, and work with minimal direction
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply the content to operations
- A continuous improvement approach to building a culture of safety through influence and employee engagement
