Job Summary
Conduct environmental inspections and monitoring for asbestos, mold, and other hazardous materials during removal and abatement projects. Operate standard environmental instruments to collect soil, water, air, and paint samples while maintaining chain of custody and accurate field data logging. Manage subcontractor performance and oversee client contractors during remediation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company protocols. Prepare project logs, compliance reports, and sample data inventories under the supervision of Project Managers. Maintain required certifications and participate in medical surveillance programs. Regional travel is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental or other scientific discipline from a regionally accredited university
- Appropriate technical certificates recognizing specific training or expertise in a discipline related to company's core services (asbestos, mold, and lead certifications for inspection and project monitoring)
- Must be able to carry out sampling and data management tasks accurately and in accordance with standard procedures
- Must be able to learn and apply regulatory requirements in routine sampling tasks
- Must learn to operate and maintain standard monitoring instruments
- Must be able to work safely at all times
- Must be well organized with the ability to meet schedule commitments
- Must be able to make accurate field decisions to assure project integrity and cost-effectiveness
- Must be able to manage subcontractor tasks to assure successful project completion
- Must be capable of obtaining Health & Safety certification for hazardous waste (pursuant to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120) / asbestos (pursuant to OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101)
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities
- Regional travel is required
Desired Qualifications
- Required Asbestos Certifications for MA/RI (Inspector, Project Monitor) a plus
- Experience with basic Industrial Hygiene sampling and mold / Indoor Air Quality Assessments a plus
