EHS and Compliance Director

Job Summary

Develop and maintain company-wide EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory reporting systems while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards. Lead annual strategic planning, manage safety budgets, and oversee facility inspections to drive continuous risk reduction. Direct incident investigations, administer corrective action plans, and manage workers' compensation programs including case management and loss run reviews. Establish and monitor driver safety KPIs using Samsara, deliver safety training, and lead safety committee meetings to foster a proactive safety culture across manufacturing and field operations. Travel 50-75% of the time across 20 market locations. Requires a Bachelor's degree and five years of progressive EHS experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Capable of bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, and walking job sites
  • Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)
  • Ability to travel independently, including overnight travel
  • 50-75% travel time required
  • Regular and predictable attendance for required schedule
  • Drive responsibly and always drive defensively when operating company vehicles
  • Maintain professional appearance including clean uniforms
  • Follow safety guidelines and act in a safe manner
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and workers' compensation regulations
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and loss control representatives
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze safety data and develop actionable improvement plans
  • Proven experience building safety culture in manufacturing and field environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software
  • Right to Work/E-Verify

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing and managing driver safety programs (Samsara preferred)
  • Bilingual Spanish
