Job Summary
EHR Training Specialist provides frontline and functional support for the organization’s Electronic Health Records systems and related healthcare applications. Serves as a liaison between clinical staff, administrative users, and IT to ensure efficient system performance, user adoption, issue resolution, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting EHR issues (including access, workflows, templates, and interfaces), recommending template configurations, supporting implementation projects and upgrades, training staff on EHR workflows and system updates, maintaining user accounts and security per HIPAA, documenting procedures and incidents, monitoring system performance, and contributing to downtime and disaster recovery planning. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting, customer service, ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users, and collaboration across clinical, administrative, and IT teams. Stay current on healthcare IT trends and regulatory requirements, generate user guides and knowledge base content, and provide regular status updates to IT leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of experience supporting EHR systems in a healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ticketing/support systems
