Job Summary
Direct all aspects of management for a nursing unit on a temporary basis, stepping in to support clinical staff and ensure regulatory compliance across various settings. Prepare and submit departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and direct resource allocation through planning and statistical analysis. Supervise nursing staff, develop continuous quality improvement initiatives, and interpret departmental goals to enhance clinical practice. Establish policies, communicate with staff on progress, and project staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage. Monitor patient care patterns, initiate quality improvement procedures, and coordinate nursing care practices using selected theory frameworks. Maintain confidentiality of management and clinical information while actively participating in committees to resolve patient care issues.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid, active unencumbered nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
- Five years of experience which includes three years of clinical nursing and 2 years of nursing leadership
- National certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- BLS required
- Some assignments in this classification may require ACLS and Healthcare Provider certifications
