EH&S Specialist

Job Summary

Conduct regular facility inspections covering hazardous waste, chemical storage, fire safety, and pollution control equipment. Maintain and calibrate monitoring devices like LEL monitors and dosimeters while ensuring accurate recordkeeping for regulatory compliance. Provide weekly safety and environmental training sessions and assist with accident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions. Track energy consumption, identify waste reduction opportunities, and manage ISO 14001 documentation. Use tablets and cloud software for reporting and training assignment management. Work flexible hours to support a 24/7 operation, including weekends and on-call availability. Complete required HAZWOPER training and wear appropriate PPE in manufacturing areas.

Required Qualifications

  • A.S. Degree in a technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an EH&S role within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
  • Must complete 24/40-hour HAZWOPER Training
  • Must be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection
  • Ability to wear required PPE in manufacturing areas, including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc), hearing protection, ANSI safety-toe footwear, and others as required
  • Must have or complete other regulatory training including HAZWOPER 24 Hour Technician, DOT Hazmat, RCRA (Hazardous Waste), etc.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to support our 24/7 operation
  • Must be able to work varying hours, including weekends and being on-call, to support our 24/7 operation
