Job Summary

Lead Environmental, Health & Safety across multiple Coventry sites, ensuring full legislative compliance and driving continuous improvement in safety culture. Manage ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, coordinate internal and external audits, and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies like the HSE. Champion risk management through hazard assessments, COSHH programmes, and incident investigations while reducing risk and embedding a zero-harm culture. Deliver EHS training, maintain competency matrices, and provide expert advice to operational, engineering, and leadership teams. Work within a global defence manufacturer using AI-assisted tools to deliver high-performance, lifesaving solutions for the defence and security industry.

Required Qualifications

  • NEBOSH National General Diploma (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Extensive Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum seven years' experience in an EHS advisory or management role
  • Experience managing Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience leading internal and external audits and working with regulatory bodies such as the HSE
  • Strong knowledge of UK Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience leading incident investigations, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Experience using AI tools or a willingness to learn and apply them within the role
  • Ability to sign the Official Secrets Act
  • Ability to successfully pass the necessary checks

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within defence, aerospace, engineering or other highly regulated manufacturing industries
  • Experience implementing behavioural safety or zero-harm initiatives
  • Experience managing environmental compliance programmes, including COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER and REACH
  • First Aid, Fire Safety or environmental management qualifications
