Job Summary
Ensure regulatory compliance with Ontario MOL, WSIB, OSHA, and EPA standards across multiple manufacturing sites by managing environmental permitting, hazardous materials programs, and stormwater reporting. Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations while overseeing accident case management and return-to-work plans. Develop and deliver safety training on PPE, LOTO, and ergonomics; coach employees and chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Partner with production leaders to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations, conduct area audits, and drive continuous improvement. Report to the General Manager with 11-25% travel and an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline
- 5–8+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments

- Proven experience with regulatory compliance, audits/inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action management
- Ability to manage WSIB/workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong document management and recordkeeping practices
- Demonstrated ability to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other operational and EHS performance objectives
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within a diverse manufacturing workforce
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner with production leaders in support of compliance and improvement initiatives
- Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario MOL, WSIB, and JHSC requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with EHS regulatory compliance across safety and environmental programs, including air, water, waste, and occupational health
- Strong experience with incident investigation, including root cause analysis and 5-Why methodology
- Firsthand experience supporting production operations to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement
- Familiarity with exposure monitoring (e.g., noise, dust) and core safety programs (risk assessment, LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, hazardous materials, SDS)
- Ability to manage WSIB/workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- 5–8+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments (multi-shift strongly preferred)
- Experience managing workers' compensation/WSIB claims and return-to-work programs
- Demonstrated experience delivering EHS training and coaching leaders and employees
- Project management experience, including facilitation skills
- Experience with industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring
- Professional designation of CSP, ASP/GSP, CRSP or CRST
