Job Summary
Coordinate environmental, health, and safety compliance at the growing media facility by ensuring EPA and OSHA documentation aligns with corporate guidelines. Collaborate with employees to identify and mitigate safety concerns, maintain the Job Hazard Analysis database, and manage incident, injury, and near-miss documentation. Lead emergency response activities, coordinate vendor inspections, and conduct training sessions while recording monitoring data into regulatory software. Serve as the team lead for the safety committee and ensure all local, state, and federal regulations are met. This role requires flexibility for second and third shifts and OSHA certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to periodically work flexible hours, including second and third shifts, if necessary
- Team lead on the safety committee
- One-two years of experience in EH&S roles, preferably in a manufacturing, agriculture or related environment
- Knowledge in EPA, OSHA, State Workers Comp Laws and Wastewater compliance
- Working knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations and standards
- Working knowledge of metrics, both lagging and leading
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet savvy
- Knowledge of facilities and operational procedures
- Ability to lead meetings and train employees
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships to gain cross-functional alignment for execution
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA Certification preferred
