Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee environmental, health, and safety compliance at a growing media facility with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure EPA and OSHA documentation compliance, maintain a Job Hazard Analysis database, and manage incident, injury, and near-miss documentation. Provide guidance for emergency response activities, coordinate vendor inspections, and lead the safety committee. Compile training records and record monitoring, sampling, and disposal data into recordkeeping software. This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale, starting at $26.55 per hour and paid weekly. Must be able to work flexible hours, including second and third shifts. Requires a high school diploma, OSHA certification preferred, and one to two years of EH&S experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to periodically work flexible hours, including second and third shifts, if necessary
- Team lead on the safety committee
- One-two years of experience in EH&S roles, preferably in a manufacturing, agriculture or related environment
- Knowledge in EPA, OSHA, State Workers Comp Laws and Wastewater compliance
- Working knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations and standards
- Working knowledge of metrics, both lagging and leading
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet savvy
- Knowledge of facilities and operational procedures
- Ability to lead meetings and train employees
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships to gain cross-functional alignment for execution
