Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) racks and test enclosures—from mechanical layout to electrical schematics, harness design, and full drawing packages—from requirements through first article build and check-out; drive standardization across the EGSE portfolio; mentor mid-level engineers and technicians; develop and maintain documentation; provide on-site support during test campaigns and bring-up activities; and influence power, data routing, signal integrity, and EMI decisions across rack and enclosure systems.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or comparable discipline
- Hands-on experience in EGSE, test systems, or hardware engineering in aerospace, defense, or adjacent high-reliability industries
- Demonstrated experience designing and building harnesses (crimping, connector inspection, backshell installation, shielding termination)
- Strong proficiency in both mechanical and electrical hardware design (3D layout and schematic ownership)
- Rack-level power and data architecture experience (UPS, lab-grade power, Linux-based control systems, mixed signal/power environments)
- Systematic troubleshooting methodology across power and data systems
- Familiarity with Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, I2C, SPI, EtherCAT
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, function generators, bench power supplies)
- Space/defense industry experience (aerospace, high-reliability)
- Ability to develop hardware-in-the-loop test system architectures
