Job Summary
Installs, inspects, repairs and modifies aircrew egress systems and related support equipment; and supervises aircrew egress systems maintenance activities. Duties include advising on technical problems of installation, maintenance and repair of egress systems; diagnosing malfunctions; devising maintenance procedures; performing installation, repair or removal of critical components such as initiators, simulators, egress controls, inertia reel, seat positioning, catapults and thrusters; conducting detailed tests and safety inspections; ensuring proper de-arming of ballistic initiators; planning and supervising maintenance personnel; managing training and on-the-job training programs; and evaluating personnel qualifications.
