Job Summary
EFD Avionics Technician responsible for avionics maintenance and troubleshooting on NASA-assigned aircraft. Performs maintenance, testing, inspection, repair and integration of aircraft electrical, electronic, and flight-management systems; uses NAMIS for maintenance data, documents actions, and ensures calibration schedules. Installs, disassembles, cleans, and repairs avionics components; updates navigational databases; operates test equipment; adheres to QA/regulatory requirements; performs ground-support duties; and trains others as needed. Requires experience with avionics diagnostics, schematic interpretation, soldering/CCH fabrication, and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance. Strong documentation, safety, and data-entry skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- FAA Airplane and Powerplant certification
- FCC GROL Certification (may be required)
- 5+ years of aircraft avionics experience with fixed/rotor wing aircraft
- Preference for Gulfstream experience
- Experience supporting NASA/DoD contract
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
- Level 1 Certification in ESD Protection (preferred)
