Job Summary
Oversee and conduct routine, ambulatory, and video EEGs for adult and pediatric patients while maintaining electrode integrity in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Clean and prepare equipment daily, monitor inventory levels, and troubleshoot malfunctions per departmental guidelines. Administer routine EEGs by introducing patients, answering inquiries, and applying activating procedures such as hyperventilation and photic stimulation. Hooks up surgical grid patients for intra-operative monitoring including corticography, obtains standard recordings, and eliminates artifacts. Document patient data, archive studies on CDs, and verify data integrity before deletion. Requires a high school diploma, EEG school certificate, one year of videomonitoring experience, and ability to communicate effectively with all staff levels.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion from a licensed EEG school
- One year of videomonitoring (CCTV-EEG) and intraoperative grid hook-up experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of national board examinations (ABRET) in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.) and certification in long term monitoring (CLTM)
- Achieve LTM certification and meeting recertification requirements
- Good communication skills
